Acura Integra Low Oil Pressure Warning Light On

Live Chat: I HAVE A 1992 ACURA INTEGRA AND MY OIL LIGHT SEEMS TO BE FLASHING. I HAVE CHECKED MY PRESSURE, I HAVE REPLACED OIL SENDING UNIT, I HAVE LOOKED OVER EVERYTHING AND STILL UNSURE OF WHAT THE CAUSE COULD BE?

You say you checked the pressure? What was it?
It starts up at 80 then goes down to about 10-15 at idle.

The light flickers at idle?
All the time sometimes its solid sometimes its dim and sometimes it flickers.

Hmm. If it is during any engine speed, flickers and gets dim, then its sounds like you have a shorted wire between the switch and the dash light. That would explain both. A wire is rubbing on metal. Sometimes it has good contact- light on steady, sometimes barely contact- dim or flicker. Try having the engine running and someone watch the light while you follow the wire from the switch into the main engine harness. Pull and wiggle. When watching the light, that would indicate the area of the shorted wire.

Actually, you could do it with the engine off.

OK how would i find the wire I’m looking for?

You replaced the sender, so grab those / that wire and follow them while moving them around.

OK i will try that but i was also told that i should check my ICU since i have other electrical problems.

What are your other problems, and do they happen at the same time as the oil light?

My rear defrost doesn’t work, i have a fuse that wont stop blowing, my passenger window has a short, my dome light doesn’t come on when door is open, my car shuts off randomly every now and then.

my headlight dinger won’t work and all of that stuff has always been like that except the car shutting off every now and then.

OK. Well with all of these things wrong, it does not sound like an ICU. It sounds like you have a major wiring harness somewhere effecting all these different systems. I can’t see that these things are all separate problem, they must be related to the same wiring issue. Try moving around all harnesses to see if you can cause some or all of these things to act up. That will tell where the problem is.

i was reading online that a few of those problems are caused by the ICU.

A few could be, but not all. Check your wiring first.

OK thanks for your help.

Have a good night.

you too bye.
