I am having issues with my Buick.

I have had the code for the EGR valve come up and replaced it twice, but car is still acting up. It revs really high and erratically when in park, also seems to be having an issue accelerating after coming to a stop and then trying to go. gains speed and seems to get gas after a few seconds ok though. Also at times as car seems to switch gears it feels like a slight slip at times. Also if I back up rather fast the car has stalled out. Had a mechanic look at several times o one can seems to diagnose. Had fuel pressure checked and came back ok too.

      Please any help.

I read online that it may be a throttle body position sensor or a crankshaft sensor. Does any of those seems more likely?

The throttle position sensor can be the most likely problem for the idling high and revving up higher than normal. The spring inside the sensor breaks and then basically it turns at will causing erratic readings and rpm changes. That’s a pretty easy part to change, so I’m sure you could do it yourself. As for the EGR problems, you could have chunks of carbon that keep getting stuck inside the valve which will set a code. Usually a really good cleaning of the EGR passages with a small wire brush/cleaner can take care of the problem.

I REPLACED STATER,”BATTERY” CABLES, AND CONNECTORS ON A 98 BUICK LESABRE 3800 EFI. THE ENGINE TURNS OVER NOW, DOES HAVE SPARK,FUEL IN THE TANK, PUMP IS PUSHING FUEL THRU THE FILTER,—–BUT WILL NOT START! I SPRAYED STARTING FLUID INTO BREATHER AND GOT NOTHING,….. ANY SUGGESTIONS.

RE: If you’re sure you have spark and fuel, then it can only be one of two other things….loss of compression, or a security issue. Does the security light stay on or flash constantly with the key on and all doors closed? If so, you are probably in need of an ignition cylinder. If not, check compression and go from there. Also, I wouldn’t rely on just seeing fuel pushed through the filter as an absolute positive guess for correct fuel pressure. You may want to do an actual pressure test with a gauge. A couple other possibilities are a faulty crank or cam sensor, or a bad ignition module, or possibly even a faulty computer.

Could be a pressure control solenoid for the P1811, although that code is for slipping component. P0752 is for a shift solenoid. You may have a problem in common with both of there codes, like a power feed issue. Ignition switch is common. Or one code may have caused the other. Need to have a trans tech look at your Buick.

I have the code DTC P1811 on my 03 Buick LeSabre, this is the only code revealed. What is the difficulty in repairing this?

It can be fairly difficult to repair, especially if the transmission has to come out. I’d recommend having a trans tech take a look at it, and possibly a test drive as well. He can watch items on the scanner that will help in diagnosis.

While driving the transmission just stopped working. It will shift into park but no other gear.
