I have a 2000 GMC Sierra Z71 with Powered Leather Heated Seats. The seat heater has a mind of its own and comes on and goes off on its own. Mainly, it just comes on and won’t shut off. Other than unplugging the entire power seat on the driver’s side, is there a way to disable just the heater? (Fuse, Wire to Cut, etc.???

RE: There is no real easy way to just disable the seat heater on your truck. Underneath the seat you have a memory seat module and a heated seat module. The wires to both modules need to be hooked up for everything to function correctly. Cutting power to one will affect the other as well, plus you will set many trouble codes in multiple modules. The best bet, is to get it fixed properly or just deal with the heated seat coming on and off at will. More than likely you would need to replace one or both modules under the seat. There could also be a wiring problem under the carpet or at the seat frame. Obviously, this would need to be diagnosed first.
