Throttle Body

The part of the fuel system that houses the throttle, it is often tied directly to the throttle control / accelerator pedal, so that as you press down the gas pedal, the throttle plate opens to allow air into the engine.

The more air, the more the engine speed increases. Less air, less engine speed- or idle.

Most cars and trucks in the last 10 years are fly-by-wire. This means the accelerator pedal gives an electrical signal tot he throttle to tell how far to open. The more you press down, the more the throttle opens.

It works just like an old cable controlled system but with less parts and is mush more sensitive.
